This is the second of two Kate Smith shows that the Grand Ole Opry gang appeared on in the spring of 1952. Just about seven months later, Hank was gone.
In a touching scene backstage, Hank Snow, "The Singing Ranger", has a chat with young Hank Williams Jr. With the help of Bill Anderson, the country stars get to watch a "home movie" of Hank performing... really a very good copy of his Kate Smith Evening Hour TV performance in 1952. I would bet this is when Hank Jr. got the idea for the "tear in my beer" video.
